You are invited to attend the inaugural Victorian Regional Innovation Conference 2009. This conference is sponsored and hosted by the Victorian Government, through its VicStart Technology Commercialisation Initiative.
This one-day conference will be held on Wednesday, 22 April 2009, at the All Seasons Bendigo.
The theme of the 2009 Regional Innovation Conference is Innovative Regions, Globally Competitive Industry emphasising the importance of innovation to regional economies.
The conference will focus on promoting an understanding of how successful innovation is fostered and sustained in Victoria's regions. It is well known that globally competitive regions contain world-competitive industries. These firms make a valuable contribution not only to their local economy, but are also significant contributors to the economy as a whole.
Featuring Australian and international experts, the conference explores the key elements that contribute to the growth of globally competitive regional businesses.

The Regional Innovation Conference is a unique opportunity to hear from regional innovation and commercialisation stakeholders, including business and industry, innovators, service providers, investors and local government and to network and exchange knowledge and ideas.
The conference will feature a keynote presentation by international expert, Mr Peter T Jones OBE, discussing the challenges and opportunities innovative companies will face as they enter the Carbon Economy.
Building Innovation
The Victorian Government's VicStart Regional Technology Commercialisation Program was established in 2005 and is part of the Victorian Government's commitment to building the State's innovation base to drive future high-skill jobs creation and growth.
Since 2005, the Regional Technology Commercialisation Program has worked with over 300 regional companies to develop key aspects of their business such as intellectual property strategies and team composition, to fine-tuning the business case and helping to formulate the commercial strategies for global expansion.
